Australian technical diver and cave explorer Craig Challen, SC, OAM. For his contributions to caving, he acquired the Oztek 2009 Diver of the Year award, and in 2019 he shared the Australian of the Year honor.
Craig Challen was raised throughout the Gidgegannup neighborhood of Perth after which on a 200 ha (500 acres) farm. He went to Eastern Hills Senior High School in Mount Helena, which is close to Gidgegannup. Challen, a veterinary surgeon by commerce, is a extensively recognized diver who has explored Pearse Resurgence and Cocklebiddy Cave. He set a record-breaking dive in 2010 of 194 meters (636 ft) whereas caving in New Zealand.
With his dive affiliate Richard Harris, he carried out a second record-breaking return journey to the Pearse Resurgence (New Zealand) in 2020 and elevated the Australasian depth report back to 245 m (804 ft).
